What technology project(s) have you worked on that you are most proud of?:

One of the technology projects in medical imaging analysis that I am most proud of is leading a team focused on the processing and analysis of musculoskeletal (MSK) images. The clinical impact of this project has been profound, and it's incredibly rewarding to see how our work has directly contributed to improving patient care in the field of musculoskeletal medicine. Leading a team of dedicated professionals to utilize this technology was key to its success. The positive feedback from healthcare professionals and the tangible improvements in patient outcomes have been the most fulfilling aspects of this project. Utilizing advanced technology enables clinicians to treat MSK conditions with greater accuracy. This ultimately leads to better patient recovery and quality of life, which is something I am deeply proud of.

How has technology helped you achieve a goal within your role or department?:

Technology has played a crucial role in achieving several pivotal goals in my position. Specifically for orthopedic surgeons, it enables detailed preoperative analysis and planning by accurately mapping injury extents and providing a 3D view of the pathology. This technological support enhances the precision and effectiveness of surgical interventions, allowing clinicians to precisely assess injuries and tailor treatment strategies more effectively.

What’s your favorite aspect of your role at UCSF and why?:

My favorite aspect is assisting researchers and clinicians in analyzing medical data, helping to advance medical knowledge, and improving patient care through the application of advanced imaging processing.

What’s one ‘fun fact’ about you that not many people know?:

I played basketball for 17 years, including 6 years professionally.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?:

I enjoy spending time with my daughter and my husband, playing sports, and expanding my knowledge about almost everything. Additionally, I have a great passion for traveling—exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and trying new foods is always exciting for me.

If you could learn anything, what would that be?:

If I could learn anything, I'd love to master the art of playing the violin like a virtuoso., weaving emotions through its melodies and captivating audiences with each graceful bow.
