Sophia Wiggins (she/her/hers)
Department/Division:
Clinical Systems/APeX Training
Years at UCSF:
5
Role in technology:
APeX Principal Educator, Research, and Reporting
What technology project(s) have you worked on that you are most proud of?:

APeX Implementations for ABOB (A Bridge to One Bay), Marin Health Clinics, and being a part of the team to help design the Model Clinic for DGIM. I am currently participating in the Marin Health Medical Center implementation by providing training to their staff on Reporting Tools in APeX.

How has technology helped you achieve a goal within your role or department?:

As a Trainer, I facilitate others in their use of technology and provide opportunities to become more efficient with their use of APeX. I work collaboratively with the analyst to create and make modification of training materials to reflect best practices workflows, build changes and enhancements of APeX.

What’s your favorite aspect of your role at UCSF and why?:

Training at UCSF allows me to interact with different types of learners, which allows me to meet them where they learn most comfortably. I love the challenge of meeting each learner where they feel most comfortable, so that I can help them reach the “a- ha” moment.

What’s one ‘fun fact’ about you that not many people know?:

I own a catering company, Sophie's Delights. I specialize in Southern Cuisine and Desserts. Sophie's Delights gives me a platform to share my passion for food, and my families culture through each dish.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?:

When not training at UCSF, you will find me being a mother of five (ages 20 yrs to 8 months), and enjoying life’s moments.

If you could learn anything, what would that be?:

I would love to travel to other countries and learn to prepare exotic cuisine from each country I visit.
