The APeX Workbench Reports on inpatient deaths and autopsies have been helping Pathology residents and faculties plan the day, follow up on cases, and hand them off. In addition, they have sparked ideas for similar case trackers on many other branches of Anatomical Pathology and helped build a foundation for dashboard apps.
Proficiency in Epic database applications has opened many doors to QI and academic projects that bridge Pathology and Internal Medicine, setting up my career as a physician-researcher with a great start.
It is incredibly satisfying to realize that I fit in because I stand out: I am impacting patient care quality through what I enjoy doing that few clinical staff have the bandwidth to do.

Whenever I take a walk, I like snapping photos of plants and animals and checking out their scientific names, namesakes, and genealogies with the help of image classifier apps. Even the "wrong answers / differential diagnoses" enrich my understanding of the natural world. This hobby grew out of a coping mechanism to memorize seemingly arbitrary names of bugs and drugs in med school.
