I joined WIT as a member who wants to learn. At this point, I haven’t been a part of a technology project yet, but I am still exploring and will find out what I can do to contribute to WIT.
Microsoft Teams is new to me, but I'm finding that it is a great way to share knowledge, ask questions of other colleagues on UCPath or other workflows and processes. It’s also a great way to get to know others outside of your division.
I really value my working relationships at UCSF. I find that every individual has something to offer to your professional and personal experience. Having conversations with a diverse range of individuals make my experience at UCSF much more fulfilling, from faculty and staff to the facilities members you see around campus or the custodians you see at the end of your day. I also have a lot of pride being a part of UCSF, especially during this pandemic, because we are at the forefront of many high-profile research initiatives to improve patient care, including research on a vaccine for COVID.
I like to adapt the melody of a popular song and add conversational lyrics to it — I then sing those conversational lyrics to my husband to crack him up. Lastly, I quiz him to see if he can identify the melody of the song. We debate about whether my melody or tune is correct and he will try to match me by singing his version. It usually results in a huge laughing session.
Enjoying walks on less-well-known blocks of San Francisco and seeing how many people I can meet while on my walk. I enjoy making conversation with each neighbor I see and discovering little stories about each neighborhood, as I love San Francisco and the history of this city.
I would love to learn how to create an app that can collect data from a person to identify individual behavior, communication pattern, strengths, and personality, so that we can use this tool to help us effectively interact with one another either professionally or personally.
