Jennifer Dodd Camacho
What technology project(s) have you worked on that you are most proud of?:

A most recent project to establish a research data warehouse to host data analytic tools and dashboards for research and medical education.

How has technology helped you achieve a goal within your role or department?:

If our goal can be summarized as the desire to help others at UCSF to do what they do…better, then technology and how it’s implemented offers the systems, applications or services to achieve this end. Throughout my twenty-year career in technology, I have thought of how technology can help others or the organization, rarely have I reflected how it helps me. I’d say the availability and use of mobile technology which provides instant communication as well as cloud hosted apps and storage are most vital to me in my role.

What’s your favorite aspect of your role at UCSF and why?:

When I have an idea for a process improvement initiative or a new technology project, the empowering culture that exists at UCSF provides the support necessary to bring these projects to fruition. In addition to the routine operational activities, it is fulfilling to have opportunities to make a real impact. If you love what you do, then you never work a day in your life. I am fortunate that I love what I do.

What’s one ‘fun fact’ about you that not many people know?:

I’m a mother of four: ages 30, 27, 23, and 21 and we plan to enter a Spartan race together later this year.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?:

Enjoying a good concert or any live performance, really. Doesn’t even have to be a concert…. a coffee shop will do.

If you could learn anything, what would that be?:

I’d learn to duplicate myself so I can be in multiple places and do multiple things at once.
