Launching the Research Security Program and embedding our new research security consultation services into existing systems and processes. We remove security roadblocks early and accelerate our researchers’ ability to get started on impactful research projects. In one short year since the launch, we’ve made a positive impact on over $30 million of grant proposals.

How has technology helped you achieve a goal within your role or department?:

We have been able to put automation in place in existing systems to serve as just-in-time security checks during the research lifecycle. We are continuing to do expand on this so security will be embedded naturally within the research lifecycle.

What’s your favorite aspect of your role at UCSF and why?:

I get to help brilliant minds work towards the mission of advancing health worldwide.

What’s one ‘fun fact’ about you that not many people know?:

I am very sensitive to sour taste so you will never find me voluntarily eating any berries, or an orange.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?:

Alternating between enjoying outings with my husband and kid and vegging out because I am too tired from such outings.

If you could learn anything, what would that be?:

Japanese. I’ve never made it past beginners level.
