EZproxy

EZproxy is a web proxy server used by UCSF Library to give access to UCSF library-licensed databases that authenticate users by IP address or UCSF MyAccess login. From UCSF campus network, its easy to obtain full text articles from databases that UCSF library has subscribed to. However off-campus access to UCSF library-licensed subscription is not guaranteed. This proxy allows direct connection to UCSF library-licensed full-text articles and books that are behind paywalls.

Why we love it:

Ezproxy has made it easy to access UCSF library licensed databases without VPN, minimizing time and effort when obtaining paywall articles. This has become handy for those working on those presentations or reports for your course/program or reading the latest research discoveries first hand.

Key Features:

  • Off campus access to databases/articles to which UCSF library subscribes to, including ScienceDirect, PubMed, or NEJM
  • Access to full-text articles without VPN when off-campus
  • EZProxy bookmarklet can be added to major web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge).
